Legends U16 earned a hard-fought 2–1 road victory over second-place El Dorado Hills, defeating them for the second time this season. The teams first met at Cherry Island on August 22, when Legends won 5–2.
This time, Legends faced the challenge without substitutes, with one player also battling illness. Mark K. opened the scoring in the 49th minute, but El Dorado Hills equalized ten minutes later.
The match shifted when an El Dorado Hills player received a second yellow card and was sent off. Legends made the most of their numerical advantage: Mark K. scored again in the 76th minute to put the visitors ahead. El Dorado Hills were reduced to nine players after a second red card in the 80th minute as the match grew increasingly physical.
Legends held on for a valuable team victory. They have one game left this season, against league leaders Rocklin FC, who won the first meeting 10–2. Legends will look to finish strong and make the rematch a closer contest.
